They are primarily intended for patients with insufficient bone structure in the upper jaw. Due to the greater length of the implant body, they are an ideal solution for patients with maxillary atrophy. Unlike <a href=\"https:\/\/dentistaenzaragoza.net\/en\/dental-implants\/\">traditional dental implants<\/a>, this type of implant is <strong>anchored in the zygomatic bone<\/strong>, hence its name. Zygomatic implants are longer than traditional dental implants and are anchored to the upper jawbone that forms the cheekbone, also known as the zygomatic arch. These implants are often used as an alternative to bone grafting, making it possible to perform the procedure in a single stage.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><div class=\"flex_column av-av_one_full-516b7eac7a9c6cd1b746245801c7486c av_one_full  avia-builder-el-7  el_after_av_one_half  el_before_av_notification  first flex_column_div  column-top-margin\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"avia-messagebox-\" class=\"avia_message_box av_notification av-mnh8ghs6-ce78f16a182769888a6848b6abd350a0 avia-color-red avia-size-large avia-icon_select-no avia-border-solid  avia-builder-el-8  el_after_av_one_full  el_before_av_textblock \"><div class=\"avia_message_box_content\"><p>Our clinic specializes in guided surgery and sinus lifts, as well as bone and periodontal regeneration; however, we do not offer zygomatic implant treatments.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<section class=\"av_textblock_section av-mnh8i2r5-6e6d892e1891ec8fb8bd52cf41bf4b18 \"><div class=\"avia_textblock\"><h2>Features of zygomatic implants<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Zygomatic implants are longer than standard dental implants and are placed deep within the bone that forms the cheekbone.<\/li>\n<li>Zygomatic implants are sometimes used as an alternative to complex bone grafting procedures, allowing the surgery to be performed in a single stage.<\/li>\n<li>Depending on bone availability, it may be possible to use just one or two zygomatic implants, along with 2\u20134 standard dental implants, to complete the restoration.<\/li>\n<li>In cases where bone availability has further diminished, up to 4 zygomatic implants can be used to achieve stable support for the restorations.<\/li>\n<li>In particularly difficult cases, where the jaw is exceptionally compromised by bone loss or advanced bone destruction, implants are designed and manufactured specifically for that particular situation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>A simple explanation of the process<\/h2>\n<p>The procedure uses a longer implant body than usual (up to 55 mm instead of the typical 10 mm or 15 mm for standard dental implants) that can be screwed into the zygomatic bone, rather than the jawbone, which benefits patients with maxillary bone loss.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, zygomatic implants can be placed without surgery. Instead, the patient first undergoes a 3D CT scan of the jaw.
