Immediate-load dental implants
Contenido
Immediate-load dental implants also known as same-day dental implants—are an efficient and immediate option for replacing your missing tooth or teeth in a single visit to the dentist.
You can enjoy a perfect smile even during the post-surgery healing period. Compared to traditional implant procedures, which would require two or more visits and several months of waiting, immediate-load dental implants achieve the same level of success and provide results faster than ever before.
That is why they are also advertised with slogans such as “dental implants in 24 hours” or similar.
Benefits of immediate-load implants
As the name suggests, immediate dental implants provide you with a functional and aesthetically pleasing replacement tooth in a single visit to the dentist.
During this procedure, an existing tooth may be extracted, a titanium screw inserted, and a temporary dental crown placed—all in the same appointment. By placing a temporary crown, we eliminate the need for additional removable dentures or unsightly gaps in the patient’s smile.
To achieve a permanent result, patients will need to return to the dental clinic once the permanent crown is ready.
Other advantages of immediate implants:
- They are indistinguishable from your natural teeth and blend seamlessly with your smile
- They can be placed in a single visit
- With proper care, they are a permanent solution
- They allow you to eat almost any food after the osseointegration process
Differences from traditional dental implants
When a patient undergoes traditional dental implant surgery, their dentist will divide the procedure into two visits.
The first visit will be to place the base of the dental implant in the jawbone. Over time, the dental implant will become securely anchored in place through the process of osseointegration.
Osseointegration is the process by which the implant fuses with the jawbone, creating a secure and stable fit for the dental implant.
The time between the first and second visits is to ensure proper osseointegration. At your second visit, your dentist will place your crown, securing it firmly to the base of your dental implant.
However, immediate-load dental implants provide immediate tooth replacements.
During the implant procedure, your dentist may even extract your tooth, simultaneously placing the implant and allowing the dentist to install the dental crown in its place.
The dental crown is temporary and will be replaced by the permanent crown once the implant is fully integrated.
Cost of Immediate-Load Implants
To determine the cost of an immediate-load dental implant, you’ll first need to consult with your dentist to determine what type of treatment is needed to create the smile of your dreams.
The cost depends on the number of implants required and the complexity of the surgery.
